Here’s an example. I was in the office of a multilevel marketing company, yesterday. All the folks were laughing because Lindsay keeps recruiting losers. She thinks her problem is who she’s recruiting. I looked at her and said, “No. It’s not them. There is a reason why you keep recruiting victims. There’s something in you that needs to save them.”
Everyone was looking at me, like “What am I talking about?” Lindsay is a go-getter, a feisty organized, clean cut military brat. She doesn’t have victim mentality— she just happens to have them on her team.
Out of the blue—-I said to her, “There’s something you’re not letting go of—- in your past.” People in the office were like, “What??” I just stayed in the moment. Within 2 minutes, Lindsay was in tears. She never let go of her grief when her father died. When he died, she became her mother’s guardian angel. And then she became the guardian angel for everyone on her team. Invisibly, silenting help, without getting any credit.
I said, when you quit your job as guardian angel to others, your father can finally start his new job— as your guardian angel. You’re holding his soul back, by holding your own life back.
